Many years ago, when my oldest son was still a little more than waist-high, I had the occasion to stay home and take care of my wife who had the flu. I was in the kitchen doing something that I did a million times before I got married, but rarely since…I was fixing dinner. It was made abundantly clear to me just how rare my kitchen skills were on display when my son came up to me and said “Whatcha doing?” I replied, “Fixing dinner” He responded in amazement, “You can cook!”

I bet many of you have some hidden talents that you just never use or never show off.  Some of you have talents that others see in you, but you are blind to. If others recognize talent in you, you should explore it. If you see talent in others, you should encourage it.

As Colin Powell said: “One of the greatest talents of all is the talent to recognize and to develop talent in others.”

Talents whether yours or someone else’s are meant to be shared.
