This is a personal rant on something that has bugged me for a long time or at least every time I hear it. In business, you must be careful when communicating with customers. Sometimes, something said in one context can be heard quite differently. For example, how many times have you heard this message?

“I’m sorry I missed your call. I am out of the office right now, but if you leave your name and number, I will get back to you at my earliest convenience.”

Now what I and many others that I have mentioned this to hear is:

“Sorry I’m not in, but if you leave your name and number, and I will call you back when I’m good and ready.”

I know that it is not what was intended, and it’s not a big thing, but it is annoying to me when I hear it.
How about you?
